Refugees and Rundfunkgebühren (public media broadcast „GEZ“)

In Germany, you have to pay a fee for watching television, public TV programmes are financed through this „GEZ Gebühr“. But not everybody has to pay.

Important information for all those who support refugees with housing: A person receiving state benefits may be exempted on request from the broadcast contribution. You can apply for not having to pay GEZ fees („Rundfunkgebühren“) online, but currently this is only availabe in German:
